Lead Time for Production

One of the standard questions that we get on a regular basis has to do with our leadtimes. Well, here's the scoop: we don't know! Now, that's not a bad thing as strange as it may sound. We are a custom house and each and every one of our orders is completely customized from start to finish. Some may take a couple of days to produce and some may take a couple of weeks. It all depends on a couple factors.

The initial factors are the materials and subcomponents that we need for your job. If we can get the materials in quickly, all the better! But, there may be some cases that we may have a longer material lead time from our vendor. None of this will be a surprise to you when you near your order point. We will advise this right from the start of the quoting process so you can plan accordingly and make the very best decision for your project.

Another factor is how we plan to manufacture your product. Some turned edge and heat sealed binders, menu covers, portfolios and slipcases run on highly automated machinery and we can produce at quite a good clip per day. Then again, there are some specialty boxes, for example, that need a great deal more in terms of hand assembly. We had a beautiful box that just finished running for a customer's sample kits. The box was made in 5 sections and needed to be fulfilled with 16 different items - but we could only make 200 of the boxes per day! Even though that sounds painfully slow, it's not at all when you consider the amount of time needed to create this truly impressive sales kit. Plus, we not only hit the requested ship date, we beat it by a day!

Long and short of it? If you need a general rule of thumb, plan on 3-4 weeks from receipt of art. Do you need it sooner? Let us know and we guarantee that we will do whatever we can to hit your dates! That's what being in the custom world is all about, isn't it? We customize not only our products, but also we completely customize our service to you.
